FAQ
Are my images uploaded?
No. Files are read with FileReader and processed in Canvas on your device. There are no upload requests whatsoever.
Why is WebP smaller than JPG?
The WebP encoder uses more efficient compression at comparable visual quality, typically 25–35% smaller for photos.
Is EXIF metadata removed?
Yes. Canvas rewrites the pixels, so GPS location and camera model metadata are not preserved — which also helps privacy.
About Image Compressor & WebP Converter
PastiBeres image compressor shrinks photos directly in the browser using Canvas and the built-in WebP encoder, with a quality slider and a before/after size comparison. Convert JPG or PNG to WebP, cap the maximum dimensions, and download results individually or as a batch. Because files are processed on your device, customer photos, office documents, and internal screenshots never reach a server.
